Today I am sharing my Waffle Stitch Cushion Cover. This wonderfully squishy pillow would make an amazing Home Accessory.
I used Stylecraft Special Chunky in Mustard to make my cushion cover, but any chunky yarn would work well.

Difficulty Level: Intermediate Beginner
Tools:
4 skeins of Stylecraft Special Chunky in Mustard
5mm Hook (I love my Clover Soft Touch Hooks)
45 x 45cm Square Cushion
Stitch Markers
Scissors
Needle for sewing
Gauge: 4 x 4 inch square – 11 rows and 14 sts of Waffle Stitch
Abbreviations: (Written in US Terms)
Ch – Chain
DC – Double Crochet
St – Stitch
FPdc – Front Post Double Crochet
YO – Yarn Over
FO – Fasten Off
Special Stitches:
FPdc – YO. Insert your hook from the front to back and work around the post of the stitch. YO. Pull through 2 loops. YO. Pull through final 2 loops.
Cushion Cover (Make 2):
Ch 56
Row 1: DC into 3rd ch from the hook. DC along Ch until the end. Turn. (54)
Row 2: Ch 2, DC into the 1st st *FPdc around the post of the next st. DC into the next 2 sts*. Repeat between *_* until you have 2 sts remaining. FPdc around the 2nd to last st, DC into the final st. Turn. (54)
Row 3: Ch 2, DC x2. *FPdc around the next 2 sts, DC into next*. Repeat between *_* until you have 1 st remaining. DC into final st. Turn. (54)

Row 4 – 41: Repeat Rows 2 & 3.
FO and weave in the ends of the 1st square.
FO and leave a long tail for sewing the squares together.
Put the two squares together right sides together and Whip Stitch the 1st 3 sides together.
Insert your cushion and Whip Stitch the final side closed.
